PriorityOne Health Center now offers Behavioral Health sessions with an onsite therapist. 

At your appointment, you can talk about what’s bothering you and your therapist will help you cope. Whether you’re dealing with grief, stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, PTSD, eating disorders, substance abuse, or self-image – we’re here to listen.

Eligibility

Behavioral Health at PriorityOne Health Center is available to the following individuals enrolled in the Shawnee Mission School District health insurance plan

Cost

[1] HSA eligible plan members must pay fair market value for visit, due to IRS regulations. This fee is still considerably less than you would pay for similar services in the community.

Meet Jen Simon, LCSW, LSCSW

Therapist at PriorityOne Health Center 

Jen Simon, LCSW, LSCSW  is a licensed clinical social worker who has been practicing in Kansas and Missouri for over 12 years. Her previous roles included substance abuse counseling and working with youth experiencing mental health issues. She partners well with those struggling with anxiety and depression, helping individuals and family systems make changes so they can have the fulfilling lives they've been seeking. 

Jen is a single mother of two amazing kids who inspire her to be her best self. The family enjoys adventures around town and traveling. She also volunteers with her daughter's Girl Scouts troop and provides education to community members on suicide prevention.  

Meet Katherine Cation, LPC

Therapist at PriorityOne Health Center 

Katherine Cation M.Ed., LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Kansas. She received her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University and a Master of Science in Education from Western Illinois University.

Katherine has practiced counseling  for the last five years working with children, adolescents, and adults facing crisis, surviving and processing trauma and abuse, and seeking treatment for anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and other life challenges and transitions. Katherine looks forward to working with you. She is here to help you find your strength, regain your power, and make the life you choose.

Employee Assistance Program

Shawnee Mission School District is pleased to offer Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services to all SMSD staff and the members of their household  through SupportLinc. This service is available to all employees of the school district and is separate from the District medical plan.

The EAP is available to help with problems that may affect you at home or at work such as: 


SupportLinc EAP offers you objective, professional assistance at no cost to you or your immediate family. This program is both voluntary and confidentialSupportLinc makes every effort to safeguard your privacy.

The call center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year and you will always speak with a live person.
