Amy Sachau, MD

Medical Director, Physician

Dr. Sachau is the clinical director and physician at the PriorityOne Health Center. She previously worked at the Mercy Clinic and Hospital in Fort Scott, Kansas. Prior to that, Amy worked at Lee’s Summit Hospital as an emergency room physician. She attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine after receiving her Bachelor of Arts at Baylor University in Texas. She is excited to spend more time with patients during their visit. When Amy isn’t at work, she spends time with her husband and two daughters.

Matthew Almaguer, MD

Physician

Dr. Almaguer has 13+ years of experience in family medicine, including the past 10 years where he worked primarily in the urgent care setting. He attended the University of Central Missouri for undergrad and the University of Kansas School of Medicine for medical school. Following graduation, he worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, CO for his family medicine residency.

He enjoys talking with his patients and helping them learn how improve their lives. His mother was a career teacher so he has enormous respect for those working in education.

In his spare time, he’s an avid runner (marathons and even one ultra-marathon!) and enjoys spending time with his three children.

Tyler Thomas, MD

Physician

Dr. Thomas received his degree from UMKC and has worked in a variety of medical settings including the emergency room and urgent care centers. When not at work, Dr. Thomas enjoys snow skiing and spending time with family. 

Amanda Munden, APRN, FNP-C

Nurse Practitioner

Amanda Munden is a family nurse practitioner with 10+ years of experience in nursing. Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing and Master of Science in nursing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Prior to joining PriorityOne, she held positions at CVS Minute Clinic, where she was awarded preceptor of the year in her region, as well as Infusion Express, and Children's Mercy Hospital.

 In her free time, Amanda enjoys traveling, watching the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas Jayhawks, and spending time with her husband and son Lucas, who was born May 2019.

 Amanda enjoys building strong relationships with Shawnee Mission School District employees and their families. 

Jennifer Simon, LCSW, LSCSW

Behavioral Health Therapist

Jen Simon is a licensed clinical social worker who has been practicing in Kansas and Missouri for over 12 years. Her previous roles included substance abuse counseling and working with youth experiencing mental health issues. She partners well with those struggling with anxiety and depression, helping individuals and family systems make changes so they can have the fulfilling lives they've been seeking. 

Jen is a single mother of two amazing kids who inspire her to be her best self. The family enjoys adventures around town and traveling. She also volunteers with her daughter's Girl Scouts troop and provides education to community members on suicide prevention.

Katherine Cation, LPC

Behavioral Health Therapist

Katherine Cation is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Kansas. She received her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University and a Master of Science in Education from Western Illinois University.

Katherine has practiced counseling  for the last five years working with children, adolescents, and adults facing crisis, surviving and processing trauma and abuse, and seeking treatment for anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and other life challenges and transitions. Katherine looks forward to working with you. She is here to help you find your strength, regain your power, and make the life you choose.
